Changbai Mountain Immortal Cave is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

The Immortal Cave is situated in Malugou Valley, approximately 4 kilometers southeast of Fusong County. Formed 600 million years ago from marine sediment deposits and carved by acidic water, this karst cave boasts uneven terrain, dramatic cliffs, and a network of interconnected chambers. Its grand hall can hold over a hundred visitors. The cave walls are adorned with vibrant, whimsical rock formations resembling a twisting serpent, a descending tiger, flowing colored clouds, or jade and amber. Archaeological excavations have uncovered numerous Neolithic stone axes, knives, and pottery pieces. Outside the cave stand the Guan Yu Temple and the Thunder Sound Temple, covering an area of 5,000 square meters. The site is renowned for combining archaeological exploration, thrill-seeking, and curiosity-driven adventure.

The Immortal Cave is a scenic area that integrates the "Five Immortals of Changbai Mountain"—the mountain itself, the Immortal Cave, Immortal Bridge, Immortal River, Immortal Path, and Immortal Peak. The cave twists through deep, mysterious passages. At its entrance, ancient inscriptions proclaim it a "Natural Fairyland," alongside a verse from the Diamond Sutra: "All conditioned phenomena are like dreams, bubbles, shadows, dew, or lightning; they should be regarded as such." Surrounding the cave are historic temple structures, including the "Changbai Mountain Buddha Temple," "Guan Yu Temple," "Goddess Temple," and "Bell and Drum Tower." This is a scenic destination where natural wonders blend seamlessly with cultural heritage.

Originally named "Wenhua Cave," the Immortal Cave formed around 600 million years ago from wavy-layered limestone, shaped by marine sedimentation and acidic erosion. Its rugged, multi-level chambers form an intricate network of connected cavities. The main hall accommodates over a hundred people. The cave walls feature strikingly colorful and fantastical rock formations—like a serpent coiling, a tiger leaping down, drifting rainbow clouds, or translucent jade and amber. Archaeological finds include Neolithic stone tools and pottery. Outside the cave are the Guan Yu Temple and Thunder Sound Temple, spanning 5,000 square meters. The site is famed for its blend of archaeological intrigue, adrenaline-pumping exploration, and curiosity.

The National Tourism Administration recently designated Fusong County’s Changbai Mountain Immortal Cave as an AA-level scenic spot. On May 31, the Fusong County government held an official inauguration ceremony for the site.
