In the spring of 2000, local villager Zhang Chunde discovered a 17.5-kilogram obsidian core while digging for ginseng. In September 2002, a joint archaeological excavation team from the provincial, municipal, and county levels conducted an excavation at the Xishan Site. In the yellow soil layer, stone artifacts made from obsidian were found, along with a circular stone structure believed to be a human dwelling. Outside the dwelling area, traces of a fire site were also discovered, dating back approximately 20,000 years. The discovery of this site provides important scientific data for the study of late Paleolithic human activity in Baishan City.

Xintunzi Town: Xintunzi Town is located 30 kilometers north of Fusong County, within the latitude range of 42°49′N to 42°38′N, and the longitude range of 127°13′E to 127°23′E. To the east, it borders Beigang Town across the Toutiao Lazi River; to the south, it neighbors Wanliang; to the north, it is adjacent to Huadian City across the Erdao Songhua River; to the west, it borders Yushu across the Xiaohuangni River; and to the southwest, it connects with Xingshen Town. It spans 12.5 kilometers from east to west and 16.5 kilometers from north to south, covering a total area of 138.33 square kilometers.
