Maochengzi Ancient City Site is an urban settlement from the Liao and Jin dynasties. The terrain within the city slopes from north to south, and the ancient city is square-shaped. The surface area contains scattered fragments of green bricks, fabric-patterned tiles, and ceramics. The pottery fragments are all fine clay gray pottery, wheel-made and plain-surfaced. The ceramic fragments are all white porcelain from the Liao–Jin period, with a yellowish tone and cracked glaze. Approximately 250 meters southwest of the city lies a roughly 50-meter square area where a small number of green bricks, fabric-patterned tiles, and ceramic fragments have also been found, sharing the same characteristics as those inside the city. During the Qing Dynasty, a Guan Yu Temple was built in the central area of the city, but it no longer exists. However, this area has a higher concentration of bricks and tiles on the surface compared to other parts.
