Former site of the border gate office on the Willow Palisade during the Qing Dynasty. The Willow Palisade was an earth-built facility serving as both a regional enclosure and administrative boundary marker, stretching across Liaoning and Jilin Provinces. It is an important historical relic from the Qing Dynasty, divided into the Old Palisade and the New Palisade. The Butuke Gate was the first border gate of the New Palisade (Jilin Section). Originally built in the ninth year of the Kangxi reign (1670). Currently, only the soldiers’ quarters and the Second Master’s Mansion remain.

It borders Lishu County of Jilin Province to the east and Changtu County of Liaoning Province to the west. The town covers a total area of 181.7 square kilometers, and has 13 administrative villages and one neighborhood committee under its government. The town has a population of 29,000.
