Piyanshan Mountain

Piyanshan Mountain is located in the southwestern part of Longjing City, about 3 kilometers from the city center, and enjoys convenient transportation. It is covered with lush trees, surrounded by rivers, and boasts pleasant scenery, making it a natural mountain park in Longjing. The mountain preserves cultural relics from the Neolithic Age as well as sites related to anti-Japanese resistance activities.

Piyanshan Mountain lies on the foothills of the Yinggaoling Range, a branch of the Changbai Mountains, with its highest peak reaching an elevation of 494.50 meters and covering a total area of approximately 4.5 square kilometers. Its eastern and northern slopes are gentle, while the western and southern slopes are steep. The eastern side of the mountain features Xitianyuan, offering a panoramic view of Longjing City. The western side includes Pingjiangyuan, facing Biyan Mountain across the Hailan River. The western, southern, and eastern parts of the mountain are all encircled by the Hailan River. Piyanshan belongs to the temperate continental semi-humid monsoon climate zone, with an average annual temperature of 5.2 degrees Celsius.

The Yisongting Scenic Area is the main attraction of the Piyanshan Tourist Zone. It gets its name from a tall, ancient pine tree standing on the cliff, whose crown resembles a pavilion, hence the name “Yisongting” (One Pine Pavilion). Over 50 years ago, this site was a gathering place where numerous patriots and young activists promoted resistance against Japan. On April 1, 2002, “Yisongting” was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit of Longjing City by the Longjing Municipal Government.
