Tumen Chuan Street is a distinctive food street in Tumen City. At the three main entrances of the street, there are three antique-style gates. Inside the street, there are two relief carvings and two sculptures. Every 8 meters on the floor tiles, you can spot the Chinese character “串” (meaning skewer). The street mainly features barbecue and showcases typical Korean ethnic characteristics. The main gate of Chuan Street is the only one in the entire prefecture that embodies classical Korean ethnic architectural elements. The purity of its colors and the overall design of the beams are distinctly different from those of ancient Chinese architecture. Tumen meat skewers have become an important part of the city’s culinary culture.
