Zhangzi Island

Zhangzi Island is known as the "Pearl of the Yellow Sea" and belongs to Zhangzi Island Town in Changhai County, Dalian. It consists of the main island of Zhangzi and 13 other islands, islets, and reefs, including Dalian Island, Dahao Island, and Xiaohao Island.

With a coastline that stretches 57.7 kilometers, full of twists and turns and dotted with rocks and reefs, Zhangzi Island boasts extraordinarily rich aquatic resources. It is particularly famous for producing premium seafood such as wrinkled crown-of-thorns abalone, Japanese scallops, sea snails, sea urchins, purple stone clams, and hermit crabs. The "Zhangzi Island" brand sea cucumber is also highly esteemed for its superior quality, standing out among Dalian’s sea cucumbers.

In recent years, large-scale attractions such as Golden Beach bathing beaches, tourist resorts, and seawater desalination projects have been built here, meeting visitors' sightseeing needs to varying degrees. Island fishing is also a major highlight. From late October to mid-November each year, it is the peak season for the abundant catch of blackfish, yellow croaker, and other species — naturally, also the best time for fishing.

Zhangzi Town is one of the wealthiest towns in Changhai County. The island is dotted with European-style buildings — white walls and red tiles — with two-story houses nestled against the green hills and blue waters, following the contours of the land. The streets are wide and neatly planned, backed by lush mountains and facing the sea, presenting a refreshing and elegant scene.
