Guapi Island is located in the deep waters of the Yellow Sea, 12.7 kilometers east of Guanglu Island, administratively under Guanglu Township, Changhai County, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, and about eight nautical miles from the mainland. Oriented east-west, it stretches 2.7 kilometers in length and 0.81 kilometers in width, with a coastline of 8.41 kilometers, a land area of 2.18 square kilometers, and an elevation of 8.05 meters.

The island covers an area of three square kilometers, stretching from east to west and broadening from north to south, with gently rolling terrain. It is composed of gneiss and slate, and features small bays and tidal flats along the coastline. A submerged sandbank connects it to Duoluomu at the eastern end of Guanglu Island, which occasionally emerges during extreme high tides in winter. At the southeastern tip, there is a reef ridge extending southeastward, on which lie several small grassy islets known as Caotuozi Islands.

In terms of development, Guapi Island remains in a relatively undiscovered state. Its coastal natural scenery is completely unspoiled by artificial alterations, and the island boasts vast stretches of soft sandy beaches, making it highly suitable for beach camping activities. On Guapi Island, you can wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Yellow Sea, enjoying breathtaking views. During high tide, fishing along the shore offers catches such as yellow croaker and blackfish, among other economically valuable fish species. Seafood available includes fish, shrimp, sea cucumber, and oysters, with the local specialty being silver needle fish. During low tide, you can explore the exposed seabed to collect shellfish, catch crabs, and gather sea cucumbers—endless fun. Stay with local fishing families to experience their way of life and savor authentic Dalian seafood. Guapi Island is known for its stunning scenery, simple and unsophisticated local customs, abundant marine resources, and lush green vegetation. From a distance, the small island appears verdant and full of life.

Upon arriving on the island, the distinctive charm and character of a fishing village are immediately apparent. The dock is small, with fishing boats moored all around. Nearby coastal residences are stacked with various fishing tools and equipment. Playful dogs jump about, while chickens and ducks cluck cheerfully, creating a harmonious and idyllic scene. But the most unique feature is that every household has hibiscus trees planted in front of and behind their homes. These graceful and elegant hibiscus trees symbolize the prosperous and thriving lives of the islanders, representing generations of wealth and well-being.
