Ocean Island is located in the deep waters of the Yellow Sea, facing the Korean Peninsula to the east and adjacent to the Changshan Archipelago to the northwest. It boasts the best harbors and the highest peaks in the Changshan Archipelago, holding a highly strategic position—thus earning the title "Outpost of the Yellow Sea." The nationally renowned "Ocean Island Fishing Grounds" derive their name from this island.

Ocean Island enjoys beautiful natural scenery, fresh air, a pleasant climate, and crystal-clear, unpolluted seawater, making it one of the cleanest marine areas in Dalian. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is a rare destination for sea bathing, fishing, leisure, vacationing, and convalescence.

Surrounded by mountains, Ocean Island features rugged terrain, with Ku Niang Ding (Crying Woman Peak), standing at 373 meters above sea level, being the highest peak in the Changshan Islands. A local saying goes, "The higher the mountain, the deeper the water." If you dig at certain depressions on the mountain, springs will gush out. The spring water is sweet and rich in minerals, much praised by visitors. The surrounding mountains of Ocean Island embrace a horseshoe-shaped bay called Taiping Bay, which is a rare natural harbor in China. Before a storm hits, numerous fishing boats gather in the bay in great numbers, forming a spectacular forest of masts. The waters around Ocean Island produce the five-spined sea cucumber, which is renowned both domestically and internationally for having an extra meaty spine compared to ordinary sea cucumbers and for its higher nutritional value.

The main attractions on Ocean Island include Ku Niang Ding, Taiping Bay, Temple of the Goddess of the Sea, Ocean Island Park, Hongshi Military Port, Weizi Gully Beach, and Qinglong Mountain Forest Park.

Transportation: Take a bus from Dalian to Changhai, then board the high-speed passenger ferry Zhangzi Island No. 1, which has 180 seats. It departs from Dalian Port at 8:00 AM every day, stops at Da Changshan Island and Zhangzi Island, and finally arrives at Ocean Island at 11:30 AM.
