Zhuanghe Longfeng Temple

Zhuanghe Longfeng Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Longfeng Temple is located in Beilu Village, Songlin Village, Guangmingshan Town, Zhuanghe. It is a Buddhist nunnery. The exact founding date of Longfeng Temple is unknown, but one surviving Qing Dynasty stone tablet records: “... In the Erlong Mountain area of Qubang Mufang in the southwest of Xiuyan, there is the Longfeng Temple on Two Dragon Mountains, with majestic temple architecture and solemn Buddhist statues... The mountain gate was renovated on the fifteenth day of the eighth month in the thirteenth year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty.”

Longfeng Temple is situated at the southern foot of a mountain peak, surrounded by hills and shaded by green trees. The temple was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution and was rebuilt in 1986. It was registered as a religious activity site in 1992. The temple complex includes the Mahavira Hall, stone tablets, and a bell pavilion. A large new hall has been constructed in front of the old hall. These photos were taken in August 2007, when the new hall had not yet been completed.

Transportation by Bus: Take a bus from Dalian to Zhuanghe Bus Station, then transfer to a minibus or taxi to reach the temple.

Driving Directions: From Dalian, take the Dan-Da Expressway, exit at the “Zhuanghe” toll station, then head northwest toward Guangmingshan Town along National Highway 305. Near Guangmingshan Town, turn onto Xiaoda Line (heading toward Guangmingshan Village), go north for about 4 kilometers, then turn onto a rural dirt road and continue to reach Longfeng Temple in Beilu Village.
