Zhuanghe Xinglong Temple

Zhuanghe Xinglong Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Also known as Guan Di Sheng Ci, Xinglong Temple is located one kilometer north of Zhuanghe City. It was first built in the fourth year of the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty, which is 1631 AD, making it 376 years old. Originally the site of the Zhuanghe County Buddhist Association, it was affiliated with the Fengtian Provincial Buddhist Association. After the occupation of Northeast China, it was renamed “Manshu Buddhist General Association Zhuanghe Branch.” Initially, it only had three main halls, but after multiple expansions, it came to have over 60 buildings and more than 60 acres of land. During the land reform movement in 1947, part of it was demolished, leaving fourteen meditation rooms. It was then occupied by a local enterprise. In 1992, the company returned the occupied property to Venerable Shi Juexiu, and the Xinglong Temple Buddhist Chanting Hall was established. In December 2004, reconstruction was approved by the Dalian Cultural Relics Management Office.

The temple complex is divided into five parts: the first is the Mountain Gate, the second is the Heavenly King Hall, the third is the Mahavira Hall, the fourth is the Scripture Depository, and the fifth is the Guan Di Platform.

The temple covers an area of 43 acres, with a total construction area of 1,800 m² and a hall area of 940 m². It serves as a leisure and Buddhist practice venue that integrates the temple and square. The site currently has seven clerical staff, with Venerable Shi Zhaojing as the abbot. There are five management personnel and over 1,000 followers. On major Buddhist festival days — the eighth day of the first lunar month, the eighth day of the fourth lunar month, the thirteenth day of the fifth lunar month, and the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month — nearly 10,000 people attend the events. The temple was officially approved as a religious activity site (location) in 2006.
