The Dalian Anbo Hot Spring Tourism Resort is situated at the northern end of Dalian, 150 kilometers from Dalian Airport and 30 kilometers from the Shenyang–Dalian Expressway and the Huanghai Avenue respectively. With no intense heat in summer or severe cold in winter, the area enjoys an average annual temperature of 9.4 degrees Celsius. In 2001, it was promoted to a national AAA-level tourist resort. Currently, the Anbo Hot Spring Tourism Resort has built over 70 hotels of various sizes, offering more than 4,000 beds, receiving 500,000 visitors annually and generating over 100 million yuan in tourism revenue per year. Anbo is famed for having “Asia’s best” hot springs and continuously attracts streams of tourists with its beautiful mountains and clear waters. The Anbo Hot Spring Tourism Resort lies on the watershed between China's Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea water systems, boasting uniquely stunning natural scenery. The more expansive and picturesque Biliu River Reservoir and its dozens of kilometers of fishing spots, as well as the Qidao Fang Reservoir Tourist Area—shaped much like a Tai Chi diagram—are like two emeralds embedded between green mountains and clear waters.

In Anbo, many visitors who come for the hot springs find that the town is actually a small hot spring city surrounded by forests. Indeed, as one of Dalian’s three winter tourism demonstration bases, Anbo Town is one of Liaoning Province’s 100 central towns and an ecological model town designated by Pulandian. Tang Yong, Party Committee Secretary of Anbo Town, told reporters that Anbo does not develop industry, aiming instead to build a green hot spring city. The Anbo area is rich in forestry resources, including the Hongyuan Mountain Villa.

It has a forested area of 280,000 mu, with a forest coverage rate of 65%.

Anbo Subdistrict: Anbo Town is located in the northern part of Pulandian City, 75 kilometers from Pulandian. It borders the Biliu River to the east and the Fuzhou River to the west. The town government is stationed in Anbo Village. It administers one community neighborhood committee and nine administrative villages, comprising 222 natural villages. The Chengsong Line, Xingtang Line, and Yongqing Line all run through the area, flanked by the Shenyang–Dalian Expressway and the Huanghai Avenue. The jurisdiction covers an area of 305.84 square kilometers, with 265,000 mu of mountain forest, 50,000 mu of arable land, and a population of 43,000.
