The Biliu River Reservoir Scenic Area was constructed in 1975 and completed in October 1986. It is located at the junction of Pulandian, Zhuanghe, and Gaizhou, within Shuangta Town, 120 kilometers from downtown Pulandian,

25 kilometers from Anbo Hot Spring Resort, 80 kilometers from Zhuanghe Bingyu Valley Scenic Area, and 170 kilometers from Dalian City, making it very accessible. It is one of the largest reservoirs in Northeast China, with a catchment area of 2,085 square kilometers, a maximum storage capacity of 934 million cubic meters, an annual water regulation capacity of 660 million cubic meters, an annual power generation of 22 million kWh, and an annual catch of 800,000 kilograms of commercial fish. Designed for a 500-year service life and verified for 10,000 years, it is a large-scale water conservancy hub project primarily for water supply, with additional benefits including flood control, power generation, irrigation, and fish farming. Its water quality meets national drinking water standards. Thanks to this, Dalian has become one of the top ten cities in China with excellent drinking water.

Surrounded by mountains and embraced by greenery, the reservoir boasts calm waters, leaping fish, and a memorial monument standing proudly on the dam against the wind, creating a moving landscape painting that is delightful to the eye and beyond compare. The surrounding environment is serene and picturesque, with the majestic reservoir dam, cascading waterfalls, and the charming sight of fishing nets forming a beautiful scene. It is not only the heart of Dalian’s municipal and industrial water supply—arguably the city’s lifeblood—but also a scenic destination with pleasant views and beautiful landscapes. The fish from Biliu River Reservoir are plump, delicious, and come in a wide variety, including many famous and specialty species such as mandarin fish and whitebait. The annual fishing competitions and freshwater fish delicacies here are renowned both domestically and internationally. The uniquely styled villas offer 12 guest rooms and over 40 beds; water activities such as boating, speedboat sightseeing, and fishing attract 500,000 domestic and international tourists every year.
