Xiaoheshan Scenic Area is located in Shihé Subdistrict, Puwan New District, Dalian. The mountain stretches from northeast to southwest, covering an area of approximately 11 square kilometers. Its main peak stands at an elevation of 469.1 meters. Xiaoheshan features a majestic and steep terrain, particularly on its eastern and southern sides. The only rugged path to the summit is via Dàliúzǐ Gully on the eastern side. The mountain boasts natural wonders such as Bāndǎo Jǐng (Overturned Well), Dàguī Shí (Big Turtle Rock), Yúnwù Dòng (Cloud Mist Cave), and Diǎnjiàng Tái (General’s Platform), all set along perilous yet picturesque trails. The northern slope is slightly gentler, and beneath the summit lies the Fóye Temple. Above the temple, there is a steep cliff known as “Yàozi Fānshēn” (Eagle’s Turn), which is the only route to reach the mountaintop.

Xiaoheshan is the source of many rivers in Jinzhou and serves as an important water conservation and protection area for Dalian. The rugged rocks, dense forests, deep streams, and melodious birdsongs create the distinctive landscape of Xiaoheshan. In 2012, a new tourist attraction was added — the Ziyun Huaxi Lavender Manor. Located at the foot of Xiaoheshan in Puwan New District, Dalian Jinzhou, the manor successfully trial-planted 20 acres of lavender in 2011. The lavender adapted well to the local climate, planted in April, with its blooming season lasting from July to October. It has now expanded to nearly 1,000 acres of lavender fields and began trial operations on July 17, 2012.
