Pulandian Bao'en Temple

Pulandian Bao'en Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

It is located on the mountainside at the southern end of Erlong Mountain in Anbo Town, Pulandian City. The name "Bao'en Temple" means "to repay the kindness of the Buddha," hence the name.

Covering an area of 1,000 square meters, the Mahavira Hall is situated in the center, flanked by meditation rooms. The Mahavira Hall has three bays, with Sakyamuni enshrined in the center, and Manjushri and Samantabhadra Bodhisattvas on either side. Behind Sakyamuni stands an inverted statue of Guanyin. The horizontal plaque above the temple gate features the three characters “Bao'en Temple” written in clerical script, while the couplet reads: “Mist and clouds abound by the Fuzhou River; an ancient temple stands amid Erlong Mountain.” The temple was originally built during the Ming Dynasty and underwent four renovations during the Qing Dynasty. In the 1980s and 1990s, it was restored several more times and now presents a completely renewed appearance. From a distance, Bao'en Temple is backed by majestic peaks, embraced on both sides by two dragon-like hills, presenting a grand and awe-inspiring sight. Although the temple was built in the Ming Dynasty, it has undergone several reconstructions over the years, and now exhibits architectural features of the Qing Dynasty.

On March 10, 1993, Bao'en Temple was designated as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit.
