Longshan Temple in Pulandian is a cultural tourism attraction.

Longshan Temple is located within the Erlongshan Park area of the Pulandian Ring City Forest Park. It is an ancient temple that has been restored, originally built during the Ming Dynasty.

The "Longshan Temple" is situated midway up the mountain, surrounded by undulating peaks, verdant pines and willows, dense maple woods, and lush flowers and grasses. This is a brick-and-stone structure with a flush-gable roof, consisting of only one main hall and two side wings, with two shrine rooms. Climbing the stone steps, you’ll see a large black plaque with the golden characters “Longshan Temple” hanging above the temple gate. Stepping through the gate leads you to the main hall, also known as the “Mahavira Hall.” Inside the hall, the central statue enshrines “Sakyamuni,” on the right is “Amitabha Buddha,” and on the left is “Bhaisajyaguru (Medicine Buddha).” On the right side of the hall are statues of “Samantabhadra” and “Ksitigarbha,” while on the left are “Manjushri” and “Guanyin” bodhisattvas. Outside on both sides are “Skanda” and “Wei Tuo” bodhisattvas. The murals depict stories such as “The Childhood of Sakyamuni” and “Seven Steps to Bloom Lotus,” rendered in serene brushwork and vibrant colors. The east wing of the main hall houses deities such as the “Dragon King,” the “God of Wealth,” and the divine physician “King of Medicine.” The west wing serves as the monks’ meditation quarters.

At the highest peak of Erlongshan Mountain stands the "Tianlong Pavilion." The pavilion has a total height of about 16 meters, with the main structure being 8 meters high. The base is a square with each side measuring 10 meters, while the pavilion itself has sides of 9 meters. It is a double-eave flush-gable style building. Inside the pavilion, a four-faced "Guanyin" bodhisattva is enshrined, allowing worship from all directions. Slightly to the northeast below, there is a statue of "Maitreya Buddha." Seated against the mountain and facing northwest, the Buddha smiles benevolently, “laughing at all those in the world who are laughable.”

Historical records indicate that Longshan Temple was built during the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty. It was destroyed in 1946 but was rebuilt in 1993 during the development of the forest park. The temple was restored to its original appearance, with new golden statues installed, bringing back its former splendor. Every year on the 18th day of the fourth lunar month is the temple’s “Incense Festival.” Crowds gather here for a festive time. The rich temple fair culture brings vibrant energy to Erlongshan.
