Located in Xiaonan Village, Shuishiying Subdistrict, Lushun, Shuishiying Subdistrict lies at the southernmost tip of the Liaodong Peninsula and in the center of Lushunkou District. It is surrounded by sea on three sides, boasts beautiful scenery, enjoys mild winters and cool summers, has distinct seasons, and features a pleasant climate.

Lushun Butterfly Garden covers an area of 20,000 square meters and features seven major landscapes including the Butterfly & Flower Zone and Butterfly Valley. As an indoor butterfly viewing area, the 1,000-square-meter Butterfly & Flower Zone is planted with rare and precious domestic flowers and trees, creating a unique landscape that complements the butterflies through a blend of motion and stillness. Butterfly Valley is an outdoor landscape butterfly viewing area, featuring cascading waterfalls, small bridges over flowing streams, seven creative landscape belts inspired by butterfly cultural concepts, and tens of thousands of flowering plants that form a sea of flowers and world of butterflies — a major highlight of the garden. In front of the Dream Release Square stands the garden’s mascot, and the grand wooden boardwalk plaza is close to nature.

The butterfly garden has a distinctive world-famous butterfly exhibition area, where over 160 specimens of famous butterflies from countries such as Brazil and Indonesia have been introduced, including the world’s largest butterfly, the Thai Western Chu Overlord Butterfly, and the smallest butterfly, the Colorful Butterfly. Among them, the Light of the Goddess Butterfly, originating from Peru, is crystal clear and nearly extinct, with a single specimen valued at 20,000 yuan. The garden’s treasured exhibit is also in this area — a nine-dragon pattern made from nearly 20,000 butterfly wings, claimed to be the largest in the world and currently under application for the Guinness World Records. To allow visitors to participate in the experience of making butterfly specimens, the garden has specially built a visitor experience area where citizens and tourists can personally engage in processing butterfly specimens, enriching interactive activities and adding to the fun of the experience.
