Liujiabao Western Han Dynasty Ruins

The Wuci County ruins are located in Liujiabao, Daliushu Village, Fengshan District. During the 1982 cultural relics survey, preliminary investigations determined that this city was built from earth, facing south with its back to the north. The western wall foundation shows a slight earthen ridge about 100 meters long, indicating a square-shaped city with sides of 400 meters and a total area of 160,000 square meters, making it a large-scale fortress. In October 1995, an excavation was carried out, uncovering three Western Han building foundations, urn-coffin burials, city foundation ditches, stone walls, and pathways. A large number of artifacts from the late Warring States period and the Western Han Dynasty were unearthed. Experts from the Liaoning Provincial Archaeological Institute believe that the Liujiabao Western Han city site was the seat of Wuci County under the Liaodong Commandery of the Western Han Dynasty, as well as the administrative center of the Eastern Commandant.
