The Hujia Fort Ancient Tomb Cluster

The Hujia Fort Ancient Tomb Cluster is located approximately 1 kilometer northwest of the Hujia Fort Village Group in Ailu Village, Dabao Manchu-Mongolian Autonomous Town, Fengcheng City. Most of the tombs in the Hujia Fort Stone-Heap Tomb Cluster are situated on riverbank terraces, with a few scattered across hillsides, arranged in rows. In terms of shape, the tombs fall into two categories: square and round. The square stone-heap tombs measure about 6 to 12 meters in length and width, all built with block stones forming the square perimeter, with relatively low stacked stones on top; the round stone-heap tombs generally have diameters of 5 to 7 meters, the smallest being around 3 meters, with stacked stones reaching heights of 1 to 1.5 meters. At the ancient tomb cluster site, pottery shards of sand-tempered black-brown and sand-tempered reddish-brown, containing small amounts of talc powder, were collected. Among them, one shard is from the shoulder of a pottery vessel, and another is from the base. The shoulder shard is made of sand-tempered black-brown pottery, fired at a high temperature, and decorated with two rows of incised dot patterns; the base fragment is also made of sand-tempered black-brown pottery and is plain.
