The Jiguan Mountain Scenic Area is part of the Changbai Mountain range extension and belongs to the Qianshan Mountain system. Its geographical coordinates are between 40°30′–40°36′ north latitude and 123°44′–123°50′ east longitude. The scenic area borders Liujiahe Town of Fengcheng City to the north, Baoshan Town of Fengcheng City to the south, and neighbors Qingliangshan in Xiuyan Manchu Autonomous County of Anshan City to the west. The scenic area is 16 km from Jiguan Mountain Railway Station, 40 km from Fengcheng City, 31 km from the Liujihe exit of the Shenyang-Dandong Highway, 88 km from Dandong, 165 km from Shenyang, and 350 km from Dalian.

The Jiguan Mountain Scenic Area enjoys a pleasant climate with distinct seasons. With over 90% forest coverage, it is home to more than 1,000 plant species and 160 types of wild animals, forming a stunning landscape painting together with its peculiar peaks and beautiful waters.

The Jiguan Mountain Scenic Area is characterized mainly by its majestic mountains, precipitous peaks, mysterious caves, unique rocks, and beautiful waters. There are 13 peaks over 1,000 meters above sea level centered around Niuxin Peak (Ox Heart Peak), all steep and towering, including unique sights such as Camel Peak, Terracotta Soldiers Guarding the Pass, Mountain Character Peak, Heavenly Horse Peak, and Buddha Head Peak. Particularly, the world-renowned Stone Ape Peak resembles a huge stone ape clinging to Niuxin Peak, creating a breathtaking scene of a mountain mother cradling a stone ape. The Shihu Grand Canyon features nearly 20 waterfalls, among which the Peacock Waterfall has a drop of nearly 30 meters, resembling a silver peacock perched in the ravine, vivid and lifelike. The Daxigou Scenic Area boasts dense forests, serene valleys, magical waters, clear springs, cascading waterfalls, and ever-changing scenery. The Flying Dam Waterfall and Tranquil Heart Lake offer a uniquely serene charm, with the interplay of landscape and water creating indescribable beauty.

It borders Liujiahe Town of Fengcheng City to the north, Baoshan Town of Fengcheng City to the south, and neighbors Qingliangshan Scenic Area in Xiuyan Manchu Autonomous County of Anshan City to the west. Its geographical coordinates are between 40º30′–40º36′ north latitude and 123º44′–123º50′ east longitude. The planned area of the scenic zone is 48 square kilometers.
