Dongtang Hot Springs were discovered during the Tang Dynasty and have a history of over 1,300 years. The water temperature reaches up to 78°C and contains 28 types of trace elements, along with 5 types of cations and 5 types of anions. It is classified as a high-temperature carbonate and sodium carbonate spring water, renowned for its excellent therapeutic effects.

The daily water discharge of Dongtang Hot Springs reaches 2,600 tons. The water is colorless and transparent, and is a high-radon radioactive medical mineral water with a high fluoride content. Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty personally inscribed the words “The Number One Sacred Spring.” Local residents built the “Sacred Spring Temple” in its honor, and placed a horizontal plaque at the temple gate that reads “The Number One Sacred Spring,” complemented by an elegant couplet: the upper line reads, “The sacred spring of the world is found in only one place,” and the lower line reads, “The miraculous water on earth has no equal.” People praise Dongtang Hot Springs as the “Divine Water of Eastern Liaoning.”

Dongtang Town: a town under the jurisdiction of Fengcheng City. Established as a commune in 1958, changed to a township in 1983, and upgraded to a town in 1985. It is located 20 kilometers east of the city center, covering an area of 331.2 square kilometers with a population of 26,000. It is traversed by the Hegang-Dalian Highway and the Yanshi Earth Road. The town administers 14 village committees: Xinglong, Tucheng, Hongwei, Shanhe, Fangmu, Xianjia, Minsheng, Taoli, Beilou, Shiqiao, Dongtang, Donghe, Xinxing, and Shuanghe. The main agricultural products are corn and beans, with local specialties including tobacco and silkworm cocoons.
