Lazi Mountain Forest Park is located in the eastern mountainous area of Kaiyuan City, Liaoning Province, bordering Qingyuan County of Fushun to the east. It is a mountainous scenic area that integrates a nature reserve, natural landscapes, and Buddhist culture. The park is 90 kilometers from downtown Kaiyuan and 120 kilometers from downtown Shenyang. It can be reached via the Shenyang–Harbin Expressway, National Highway 102, National Highway 202, and then the Kaiqing Highway.

The Lazi Mountain Scenic Area is surrounded by mountains, with towering peaks, harmonious integration of water and rock formations, ancient trees, and peculiar rocks. White stone peaks stretch endlessly, while graceful pine trees take on enchanting shapes, creating one natural bonsai landscape after another. Known as the “Little Huangshan of the Northeast,” its highest peak stands at 878.4 meters above sea level, crowned as the “Roof of Northern Liaoning.”

As an extension of the Changbai Mountain range, the Lazi Mountain Scenic Area boasts rich and diverse flora and fauna. The plant life includes primeval forests, natural secondary forests, and planted woodlands. Rare plant species found here include Manchurian walnut, Amur cork tree, eleutherococcus senticosus, and Lonicera maackii. Valuable medicinal herbs such as ginseng, schisandra, goji berries, peony, gentian, and asarum are also present. The area is home to nationally protected animals including wild boars, pheasants, wolves, badgers, roe deer, raccoon dogs, and salamanders.

The Lazi Mountain Scenic Area consists of four main scenic zones: the Lamen Zone, Xiangshi Zone, Yingbiqiang Zone, and Lucheng Zone, covering a total area of approximately 80 square kilometers with over 30 scenic spots. The area is characterized by its high mountains, perilous peaks, unique pines, dense forests, and peculiar rocks.
