Kaiyuan Hundred-Mile Gallery

Relying on its industrial resources and brand advantages as China’s “No. 1 County for Colored Seedlings,” Kaiyuan City emphasizes eco-tourism and leisure vacation tourism, creating the Hundred-Mile Gallery Valley Tourism Economic Belt. This has fostered a positive development dynamic where the colored seedling industry and tourism industry mutually reinforce and grow together.

The Hundred-Mile Gallery is a tourism industry supported by the colored seedling industry under the “one county, one industry” model, while the tourism industry in turn promotes and boosts the colored seedling industry. In line with the grand vision of the Tieling Municipal Government to vigorously develop the tourism industry, the Kaiyuan Hundred-Mile Gallery has been designated as one of the eight key tourism projects in Tieling.

The Hundred-Mile Gallery project is a valley economic tourism belt similar to Beijing's Huairou Night Bohai or Yanqi Never-Night Valley. It starts from Yunqing Flower Sea in the north, follows National Highway 102 from Kaiyuan to Zhonggu and the Chaihe River Basin's Zhonglan Line, passes through the Egret Island Nature Reserve, and extends to the Xiangya Mountain Scenic Area. The entire tourism belt resembles a colorful gallery formed by over a hundred miles of colored seedlings, hence the name Hundred-Mile Gallery.

The five main attractions of the Hundred-Mile Gallery project are the Egret Island Nature Reserve, Longquan Mountain City Scenic Area, Baili Manor, Yunqing Flower Sea, and Xiangya Mountain Scenic Area. It will be developed into a large-scale tourism area integrating sightseeing, fruit-picking experiences, leisure shopping, and entertainment vacations, becoming the most distinctive premium tourism route and top travel destination in Northeast China.
