Lianzong West Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Kaiyuan City.

Lianzong West Temple: The ruins of the puppet Manchukuo-era Kaiyuan Lianzong West Temple are located north of Kaiyuan Avenue and east of Yingbin Road in Kaiyuan City, within the north courtyard of Kaiyuan No. 2 High School, in the central area of Xincheng Street, Kaiyuan. The temple was originally built between 1910 and 1915. It was established by various Japanese Buddhist sects that promoted the ideology of "loyalty to the Emperor and love for the country" to cater to the needs of the ruling authorities, spreading the spirit of "protecting the nation" in service of the government’s efforts to promote militarism, establish a fascist authoritarian regime, and wage aggressive wars abroad.

Protected area: 10 meters to the east and south of the main structure, and 20 meters to the west and north.

Construction control zone: An area extending 30 meters beyond the protected zone.
