Dongshan Scenic Area

Dongshan Scenic Area is located in the eastern part of Anshan city proper, stretching from Shanzuizi in the north to Yingchengzi in the south, extending from Weijiadun and Wangjiayu in the east, and connecting to the beautiful "Er Yi Yi" Park in the west as it reaches into the urban area, covering a total area of 743 hectares.

The scenic area contains 25 peaks of varying sizes, 11 hills, valleys, and ravines, and features 15 attractions including Jinghu Lake, Liaomei Tower, Qixiu Ridge, Apricot Blossom Slope, Locust Tree Gully, Radar Mountain, Guan'an Pavilion, and Wobridge.

　Dongshan Scenic Area is an important part of the Yufoshan Scenic Area and currently the largest and best-preserved urban forest green space in Anshan City.

Known as the "ten-li green hills half within the city," Dongshan Scenic Area stands like a green screen in the eastern part of the urban area. With 93.6% vegetation coverage, it is referred to as a "natural forest oxygen bar." Here, rolling mountains and an elegant environment create a uniquely charming landscape. Natural attractions such as Liaomei Tower, ancient rock formations, and Jinghu Lake captivate visitors, while cultural sites like Apricot Grove Spring Pavilion, Níngcuì Pavilion, and Mùchūn Guānxuě Pavilion offer delightful experiences. Notably, Liaomei Tower, situated 4.8 kilometers along the scenic area’s mountain-loop road, is a steel-structured tower featuring internal spiral stairs and external spiral platforms with railings. Standing at 36.8 meters tall on a mountain peak with an elevation of 193.2 meters, the tower offers panoramic views of the steel city. Up close, you can take in the urban skyline of Anshan dotted with high-rises and the dense blast furnaces of the Ansteel plant; in the distance, you can gaze upon the undulating Qianshan Mountains and the vast plains of the Liaohe River Basin.

This "urban lung" of Dongshan Scenic Area, with its enchanting scenery and unique charm, will continue to attract more and more visitors from near and far.
