Most people have probably tried Taolin Japanese hot pot, but this Pingtung branch is different — they serve limited quantities of deep-sea fish here. Sally loves fish, especially those with a sweet and fresh taste. It’s said that the owner goes sea fishing in person, which is super cool XD. Because the types of fish caught are completely free-style, it always brings big surprises to diners. And it’s limited, so you need to make a reservation to enjoy it~
The Taolin hot pot in Pingtung puts a lot of care into their offerings. In addition to deep-sea fish, they also provide special chicken thigh meat and herb-fed pork. Perfect for dates or group meals—let’s just come here (%?j%冤

▲ Deep-sea Fish Hot Pot
They give you a generous portion of fish here!It almost overflows when you put it in the pot XD. Since it’s limited, it’s really precious. We made a reservation early on, which was the only way we could get a taste.... If you want to try delicious fresh sea-caught fish, be sure to reserve in advance~~~

▲ So fresh and delicious~~
Alright, Hu Li admits she was a little surprised when it first arrived, but once she tasted the Q-textured fish, she was completely immersed in happiness... hahaha!

▲ The flesh is crystal clear, and there's even thick fish skin rich in collagen~~

▲ Kelp Broth Base
This time, Hu Li tried three different broth bases and paired them with various main ingredients. The refreshing kelp broth base is the best choice for cooking deep-sea fish!

▲ Basic Vegetable Platter
The vegetable platter here is quite generous, and there are even crab legs you can use to flavor the broth. The vegetables are all very fresh too!We love such fresh platters~

▲ Fresh slices of deep-sea fish curl up after just a quick blanch in the kelp pot ^^
Slightly cooked and ready to eat, the texture is bouncy and chewy~~ Every bite bursts with sweet flavors!Even Xiao Hu, who usually doesn’t like fish, fought for a taste??/p>

▲ The flesh is extremely firm, leaving you feeling very full after eating~~
The fish skin is also elastic and chewy, with plenty of collagen — don’t miss out on it!

▲ The deep-sea fish absorbs the essence of the kelp broth, offering a naturally savory-sweet taste on its own
It pairs quite well with dipping sauce and steamed rice too!At the time, Hu Li didn’t finish it all and took the whole pot home, where she added more ingredients to enjoy the collagen-rich hot pot dish XD

▲ Ginseng Broth Base
Taolin Japanese hot pot offers different broth bases, and you can switch for just an additional 60 NT$!The ginseng broth is perfect for pairing with free-range chicken thigh meat to make a ginseng chicken soup!

▲ Free-range Chicken Thigh Meat
The Pingtung Taolin really spares no expense in providing great ingredients to customers~~ They specially select free-range local chicken thigh meat, which has a firmer texture. You can see its freshness as soon as it’s served, and it tastes delicious after being cooked in the pot!

▲ Both Xiao Hu and Sally, who are very picky about chicken, really love this chicken thigh meat
It has a good bite without being dry or tough, and there’s absolutely no fishy taste. We chose the ginseng broth base to enjoy the original flavor, and we were very satisfied after eating ^^

▲ The ginseng broth base itself gives off a unique fragrance continuously
After adding the free-range chicken thigh meat to braise, the flavor gets even richer~~ There are also garlic cloves and goji berries inside to enhance the aroma. Soup lover Hu quietly finished the whole pot and ate all the meat too= =

▲ The amount of ginseng added to the broth is quite substantial~
Just the visual effect is enough to make one happy XD

▲ Milk-based broth
A milk-based broth that dairy lovers shouldn't miss when having hotpot. Sally sometimes gets a craving and orders a milk hotpot dish too~~ Táolín in Pingtung serves this one and it’s pretty good, hehe!(A little something extra for the ladies)

▲ Served with the milk broth are Matsusaka pork and Pingtung herb-infused pork
Look at that pinkish, tender pork—it's simply irresistible~~ Want to toss them all in the pot and gobble them up XD

▲ Matsusaka pork has a Q弹 (bouncy, chewy) texture
Perfect for those who enjoy a bit more bite^^

▲ Pingtung herb-infused pork
The shop says this is locally raised in Pingtung with traceable origin. The quality is better, and there's absolutely no meaty smell~~ When blanched in the milk broth, the pork slices soak up the milky aroma before eating... your inner girl will go wild XD

▲ The herb-infused pork has a bit of chew to it overall!
Unlike regular pork slices that are too soft or greasy, this one has a nice springy texture. It’s fine to eat without dipping sauce, making it great for meat lovers looking for something new. Pairs just right with the rich milk broth~

▲ A cup of winter melon shaved ice comes with the meal
Pingtung is really quite hot, but having hotpot with a cup of shaved ice is so refreshing!

▲ We went for dinner on a weekday evening, and it was pretty crowded!
The dining space is quite spacious and comfortable, perfect for gatherings with friends^^

▲ Located on Zhongzheng Road, it has a shiny signboard that’s easy to spot!

The deep-sea fish broth, full of collagen and sweet umami, is super enticing.... I want to go back and try it again! Pingtung Táolín Japanese-style shabu-shabu offers unique dishes, giving food adventurers more options. Even if you don’t eat fish, there’s also chicken leg meat, herb-infused pork, or Matsusaka pork to enjoy~~
Diverse cuisine to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. Bring family or friends without worry—recommended for those who love fresh hotpot dishes and unique flavors!
