China Airlines announced that it officially launched the Tainan–Osaka route today (October 28), offering two flights per week, operated by a 737-800 aircraft, with 8 business class seats and 150 economy class seats.

Since it pioneered the Tainan–Hong Kong route in 2013, China Airlines has become the first airline in Taiwan to offer international scheduled flights from Tainan Airport. The newly launched Osaka, located at the heart of Japan’s Kansai region, also serves as a gateway to Kobe, Kyoto, Nara, and other destinations, making it a popular spot among Taiwanese travelers.

China Airlines stated that it sees strong potential in the southern outbound market and is actively expanding its flight network to cities such as Tainan and Kaohsiung. With the new Tainan–Osaka route operating twice a week, plus the existing 28 weekly flights from Taipei and 12 from Kaohsiung, China Airlines will now operate a total of 42 weekly flights to Osaka.
