Internationally renowned chef Huang Ching-piao, hailed as the "Godfather of the Culinary World" in Singapore, has been prominently hired by the Kaohsiung-based Daba Catering Group to open an all-round scenic Chinese restaurant named "Taipei 47 Celebrity Banquet" on the 47th floor rooftop of Taipei 101’s Breeze. It is expected to commence operations in late December. This marks Chef Huang’s first return to Taiwan in 36 years to establish and oversee a restaurant, where he will present the century-old "Tan Family Celebrity Banquet," featuring classic dishes such as braised shark’s fin in brown sauce, abalone in caramelized sugar glaze, and shark bone soup.

Daba Group is a long-established catering group in Kaohsiung with 35 years of presence in the city. It started with Japanese cuisine and is home to Taiwan’s first Japanese restaurant that combined indoor dining with outdoor garden views – "Daba Japanese Cuisine." Currently, the Daba Catering Group operates six major dining brands, including "Daba Japanese Cuisine," as well as "Top Buffet," "Trendy Hong Kong-Style Dim Sum All-You-Can-Eat," "Xinyihe Modern Cantonese Cuisine," along with "Daba Grand Hotel Wedding Banquet Plaza" and "Daba Xiyue Wedding Banquet Hall."

Chef Huang Ching-piao is from Sanying in Yilan, Taiwan. In 1984, he won a gold medal at the World Chefs Cooking Competition in Frankfurt, Germany — the first Asian chef to receive this honor. Thirty-six years ago, he was invited to showcase his culinary skills in Singapore, where he became a household name and earned the title "Godfather of the Culinary World." He gained immense popularity among guests with his dish, the golden soup from the Tan Family Celebrity Banquet.
