The Mansion Christmas Season Kicks Off – The Waterworks Park Transforms into a Magical “Ice Castle”

The annual Mansion Christmas Season is here again. From December 5 to 31, the Taipei Waterworks Park will host a month-long Christmas event themed “Crystal Snow Christmas, Blooming at the Water Museum.” This year’s decorations include flowers, reindeer, sleighs, and more, creating a festive holiday atmosphere. On the 19th, enjoy free admission to the Christmas concert, where you can listen to the beautiful sounds of a wind orchestra under the baton of Professor Yeh Shu-han and get a head start on a romantic Christmas celebration.

The Taipei Water Department said that for this event, the Water Museum will be transformed into a castle in an ice and snow world. Special lighting effects have been used to create a completely new look for the museum. Snowflake-like lights on the walls simulate falling ice crystals, making the museum and its surroundings shine together and enhancing the overall wintry ambiance.

The park has created a green wall using nearly a thousand poinsettias, with cute reindeer and sleighs placed at the front for visitors to take photos and enjoy the joyful Christmas vibe of riding a sleigh. The pondside cake fountain is also decorated with Christmas flowers, turning into a giant Christmas tree at night.

The most anticipated Christmas concert of the year takes place on the evening of December 19. In addition to performances by bands such as Walnut KurumiQ and The Lighters, the event also features conductor Professor Yeh Shu-han leading the National Taiwan Normal University Wind Orchestra in the finale. The Taipei Water Department highlights that this year includes famous opera pieces like “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “The Phantom of the Opera” for the first time. Free entry is available on the day of the concert, along with activities such as interactions with Santa Claus and free massage experiences for the visually impaired, inviting everyone to celebrate Christmas together.
