2015 Nantou Flower Carnival – Skiing for Plum BlossomsThe series of events kicks off on the 20th！ Marking the official start of the flower season, the day will feature the “Ten Goodies at Shiquan Shi Mei”, a special gourmet bazaar hosted by the Xinyi Home Economics Class, offering visitors 1,000 free garden coupons to redeem, as well as ten free experiences and fun food and entertainment options—the activities are abundant.

The Nantou County Government stated that visitors who take a photo with the mascot at the venue on the opening day can receive a souvenir booklet. In addition,the “Painting Plums, Tea Talk over Plums” and “Rolling Oak Barrels, Couples’ Piggyback Race” events, to be held on January 7 and 10 respectively at Liu Family’s Plum Garden in Niuchongkeng, will follow, and participants can also win prizes.

Nantou’s Xinyi Township, known as the “Hometown of Plums”, is a famous plum blossom viewing spot in Taiwan. As winter temperatures drop each year, the conditions are ideal for the plum blossoms, and they are expected to bloom soon.
