In recent years, there’s been a trend towardthe concept of “light travel,”which reduces the burdens of driving and spending on travel, focusing instead on simple attire and an easy one-day outing. First, it’s recommended that after boarding at Muzha Metro Station, you go straight tothe final stop, “Shifen Visitor Center,” then slowly explore your way back.From the visitor center, it’s about a 20-minute walk to reach the Shifen Waterfall Park, home to the waterfall known as the“Shifen Waterfall,”often referred to as the “Niagara of Taiwan.” Here, you can admire the grand curtain-style waterfall and breathe in the negative ions of nature. Located between Lingjiao and Shifen Railway Stations,“Wanggu Station”may not have an old street, a waterfall, or sky lanterns, but it offers a rustic charm. Walking along the Wanggu Creek Trail by the stream, you’ll find an environment rich in moisture that nourishes a variety of plants, akin to a hidden valley of wildflowers—a natural setting recommended for hiking enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the small and tranquil“Lingjiao Station”surroundings feature attractions such as the century-old Fu’an Temple, the Tsai Family Western-style House, Lingjiao Old Street, the Lingjiao Old Bridge, ruins of a coal washing site, and the old railway track (tram line). There are also people who want to walk along the “Junya Boulevard” from the ad, and the sky lanterns and images of Little Zhang Junya painted on the stone walls of the old street further enhance the cultural and artistic vibe of the street scene.
