Exotic Restaurant with Riverside Views – Giant Tomahawk Pork Chops Marinated and Then Fried or Grilled

This was our second visit to more world after their relocation. Thanks to our first experience, we knew exactly where we were going this time. The restaurant has been in its new location for about half a year. Compared to its previous urban space, the environment here is truly beautiful — right next to the Love River, with stunning night views. It’s one of the few exotic restaurants that offers riverside scenery.

Walking in along the wooden boardwalk, unlike the hustle and bustle of busy streets, the place offers a much more relaxing atmosphere. As city lights reflect off the Love River, the shimmering water creates a very romantic vibe. If the weather weren’t so cold, dining outside would have a totally different charm.

The owner loves to travel and has collected many unique items from around the world. In addition to decorating the restaurant, these are also displayed and sold on-site. From clothing to mugs, the wide array of distinctive goods is overwhelming. Friends who enjoy such exotic little decorations or accessories can come here to hunt for treasures.

It’s quite rare in Kaohsiung to find a restaurant that combines great food with shopping. Since moving here, there’s more space to display these items, so visitors can browse and enjoy themselves even more.

Hot pot, steak meals, pasta, and Thai cuisine are the main highlights here. For an additional NT$100, you can upgrade to an A set meal, which includes soup and a NT$100 drink; for an extra NT$150, you can upgrade to a B set meal, which comes with a dessert compared to the A set.

Come for afternoon tea and enjoy a pancake while taking in the tranquility and the view of the Love River.

Exotic Luxury Steak Meal – Thai-style Tomahawk Pork Chop 398 NTD / À la carte

The giant tomahawk pork chop is first marinated to perfection, then goes through frying and grilling, resulting in a dish that is colorful, aromatic, and delicious.

The pork chop has a very chewy texture, not dry at all, with a crispy, caramelized exterior. The overall flavor is quite astonishing — we loved it.

The soup included in the upgraded set meal that day was pumpkin soup. My husband finished the soup, so Shadow didn’t get a chance to try it.

Exotic-style Hot Pot – Nanyang Bak Kut Teh 350 NTD / À la carte

The hot pot allows you to choose between chicken, pork, or lamb. The only fully vegetarian option is the Nanyang Bak Kut Teh. The hot pot includes rice noodles, a vegetable plate, steamed rice, side dishes, and fried egg.

The Bak Kut Teh broth seems to be simmered with Chinese herbs and has a peppery aroma, with a slightly saltier flavor. Once the ingredients are cooked, they can mostly be eaten without dipping sauce.

The restaurant still prepares a dipping sauce, which tastes like a mix of Thai sweet and sour sauce and chili sauce. This flavor was a first for Shadow — a really fresh taste.

Rainbow Cake

Recently popular rainbow cake is also available in Kaohsiung. With layer upon layer of vibrant colors and made without a single drop of water — using only fresh milk — it has a rich and soft texture, unlike typical moist cakes.

Fruit Sparkling Drink – Guava Lemon 140 NTD, Japanese Matcha Milk 120 NTD

Guava Lemon is a popular sparkling drink at the shop; the Japanese matcha is mixed with milk, giving it a smooth and mild taste with a stronger fresh milk flavor.

The city government had planned to place a Kaohsiung Bear sculpture by the river, but unfortunately, it hadn’t been installed yet when we visited. We’ll probably get to see the cute Kaohsiung Bear on our next trip.

It’s not easy to find a restaurant with greenery and riverside views. Though the location is somewhat hidden, it’s precisely because of this that one can find a sense of belonging in such a peaceful yet vibrant setting. In our busy daily lives, it’s good to give yourself a break. Whether you’re going alone or meeting up with friends for a meal, this is a great choice — highly recommended.
