The Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival is here！　Taiwan Railways adjusts train schedules with 3 key points

The Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival, once selected as one of the “Top 10 Best Winter Travel Destinations in the World,” will take place on 2/11, 2/14, and 2/22. A massive heart-shaped main lantern, reaching up to 20TN in size, will also make its debut and is scheduled to be released on 2/14, Valentine’s Day. To better manage the crowds during the festival, Taiwan Railways has adjusted the train schedules for the Pingxi/Shen’ao Line on the event days (February 11, 14, and 22), increasing the number of train cars and adding extra services.

Key points of the schedule adjustments are as follows:
1. Trains will operate in segments:
(1) On February 11, 14, and 22, the Pingxi Line and Shen’ao Line will suspend through service.
(2) On February 14, Pingxi Line trains will run from Ruifang Station to Pingxi Station only. Passengers wishing to continue to Jingting Station should transfer to the Pingxi=Jingting train at Pingxi Station.
(3) On February 22, Pingxi Line trains will run from Ruifang Station to Shiding Station only. Passengers wanting to go further toward Jingting or other stations in that direction should transfer to the Shiding=Jingting train at Shiding Station.

2. On the aforementioned event days, both upstream (outbound) and downstream (return) Pingxi Line trains will start and end at Ruifang Station. For specific train numbers, schedules, and operating sections, please check the Taiwan Railways website (http://www.railway.gov.tw) or station timetables.

3. The New Taipei City Government and Keelung City Government have arranged shuttle buses outside Taipei Metro Wenhu Line Zoo Station, as well as outside Keelung Station and Ruifang Station on the Taiwan Railways. These shuttle buses run frequently and offer convenient transfers—locals and visitors are encouraged to make use of them.
