There are so many delicious ramen shops in Japan — which ones should you try? For ramen lovers, in addition to referring to the Michelin-recommended list, you can also check out the top 50 most delicious ramen shops selected by the Japanese food website “Tabelog.” The #1 spot goes to “Michi” (tsukemen), located in Tokyo; #2 is “Wadining Seino” in Wakayama Prefecture; and #3 is “Hitotsubashi” in Tokyo. On the other hand, the only ramen shop in Japan that has ever earned a Michelin one-star, “Tatsuya,” surprisingly ranks only 50th. As for the popular ramen chains in Taiwan such as “Ippudo,” “Ichiran,” and “Mutekiya,” none of them made the list.

The 4th to 10th spots are held by “Yagumo” in Tokyo, “Kurakichi” in Tochigi Prefecture, “Wakame” in Hyogo Prefecture, “Koukaihou” in Tokyo, “Itaya Noriaki” in Kanagawa Prefecture, and “Nidandaka” in Tokyo. The 11th to 20th spots are occupied by “Kakumei Haru” in Tokyo, “Oyakata Jouroku” in Osaka, “Kanetaya” in Fukuoka, “SonRAGE” in Tokyo, “Muten Musubi Mitsuba” in Nara, and “Oyakata Noroma” in Nara.
