Yoshino cherry and Showa cherry to take over — experience a cloud-kissed cherry blossom shower on the North Cross-Island Highway

As the holiday break reaches its midpoint, the cherry blossoms in Taoyuan’s North Cross-Island area are also entering a transitional blooming period. The mountain cherry blossoms at locations such as Dongyue Mountain, Ren’ai Cherry Blossom Garden, and Jiaobanshan are nearing the end of their season, but other varieties like Thousand Island cherry and Yoshino cherry are about to come into bloom. Travelers can plan a cherry blossom viewing trip along the North Cross-Island Highway.

According to data from the Taoyuan City Scenic Area Administration, from February 10 to early March, locations including Zhongbaling Cherry Blossom Avenue, Biya Exterior Cherry Blossom Welcome Road, Kapu Hot Springs, and Shilang Cherry Blossom Trail will enter the blooming season for Yoshino cherry and Showa cherry. Starting from February 20, areas such as Shangbaling Cloud-Kissed Cherry Blossom Shower and Lala Mountain Tourist Service Center will also see the arrival of various blooms including Thousand Island cherry, with the cherry blossom season expected to last until mid-March.
