“Essential Travel Items” Survey: Nearly 90% of Taiwanese Say They Always Bring This

What’s the one item you must bring when traveling abroad? A website conducted a survey among travelers from 19 countries around the world, and over 70% of respondents said that a “smartphone” is an essential item when traveling. Looking at individual countries, for example,nearly 90% of Taiwanese people believe that a smartphone is a travel essential when going abroad.

In addition, according to the survey, over 60% of travelers believe that “a smartphone can enhance the quality of travel,” with the highest number of respondents coming from Asian countries such as China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan.For European travelers, a toothbrush is an item they always bring when traveling abroad,which is because compared to Asia, fewer European accommodations provide toothbrushes.American travelers, on the other hand, consider a driver’s license to be an essential travel item,which is influenced by the fact that most of them travel domestically by renting a car.

In addition, in a survey of the most frequently used travel apps, the top spot went to maps, followed by the camera in second place, and social media apps in third. Among the countries where social media apps are used most often are Thailand, Brazil, and Taiwan.
