Vanilla Air, which experienced system crashes yesterday due to a surge in ticket bookings, is expecting a second wave of high traffic at 18:00 today. According to statements from Vanilla Air’s Japanese office, the website malfunctioned yesterday due to excessive traffic, and staff will remain on standby today.
Through contact with Taiwan-based agency Wan Jun Travel and Vanilla Air’s head office, the latter stated that it is not convenient to disclose the total number of promotional tickets, their proportion, or the actual website traffic from last night. However, staff will continue to monitor the website’s status today. Based on live testing, as of 10 minutes before ticket sales began, the website, although slower than usual, was still functioning normally.
