All Pbikes in Pingtung Completed   30 Stations Available for Bike Rental

The second phase expansion of Pingtung City’s public bicycles (Pbike), adding 10 new stations, has been fully completed. With all 30 Pbike rental stations now in place, visitors to Pingtung will have a new transportation option.

The first phase of Pbike, featuring 20 rental stations, was launched in December 2014. Since then, the system has accumulated over 690,000 uses, with an average daily turnover rate of approximately 3.79 rides per bike. This has set a new record for both transportation and environmental protection in Pingtung County. In light of the increasing usage of Pbikes, the Pingtung County Government has initiated the second phase to expand the service network by adding 10 more stations. The first two stations, “Global Mall Station” and “Pingtung Senior High School Station,” were completed and opened before the Lunar New Year, while the remaining eight stations have also been simultaneously completed and put into service.

The Pingtung County Government stated that the 30 rental stations are strategically located near key institutions and attractions in Pingtung City, offering residents and visitors a new option for commuting, school travel, business, and sightseeing. Given the success of Pbike in Pingtung City, the government is actively evaluating plans to extend the Pbike experience to other townships beyond the urban area, thereby enhancing transportation convenience for all residents.
