But no worries — as the leading city in Thailand tourism, Bangkok still has plenty of super-popular attractions to explore. Mahanakhon Skywalk – High-altitude Glass Walkway

If you want to take in Bangkok’s night view or sunset all at once, you must come to the highest observation deck in Bangkok – the Mahanakhon Skywalk, which just opened last November. Before conquering the stunning views, you can also experience the thrill of Thailand’s high-speed elevators. In just 50 seconds, you’ll be whisked to the 74th floor’s 360-degree indoor observation deck, where you can enjoy high-definition views of Bangkok along the way — it’s like flying above the city yourself.

If you’re not afraid of heights and want to snap an epic photo, head up to the outdoor transparent glass platform on the 78th floor, where the entire Bangkok cityscape lies beneath your feet — you can take photos lying down, sitting, or even lying face down. And of course, great views call for great drinks — the sky bar located on the observation deck awaits your visit.

Erawan Shrine (Four-Faced Buddha)
Even if you’ve never traveled to Thailand, you’ve probably heard of the Erawan Shrine and its famous reputation. With sincere prayers, it’s said to grant almost any wish — which is why it attracts so many visitors every year. Not only do many come to make wishes, but many also return to give thanks. Praying at the Erawan Shrine follows a specific ritual: first, prepare flowers, candles, and incense (available from nearby vendors in sets), then proceed to the praying area. Place the candle down and start praying clockwise around the shrine. After each round, place three sticks of incense and a flower garland. Also, remember to repeat your wishes and thanksgiving intentions towards each of the four directions!
Fun Fact:The order of praying for blessings in the four directions is career → love and marriage → health → wealth
Grand Palace Bangkok
The Grand Palace was once the royal palace of the Kingdom of Siam, featuring extremely exquisite and luxurious decorations. The entire area is vast, so a complete visit will take quite some time. You can choose to explore the areas that interest you. Among them, Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) within the Grand Palace houses Thailand’s national treasure — the Emerald Buddha statue — and is an important religious site in Thailand. The interior architecture is also incredibly intricate. For those short on time, it is recommended to start with a visit to Wat Phra Kaew.
Quick reminder:Please pay special attention to your attire during the visit — clothing that is too revealing is not allowed.
Tha Maharaj (Maharaj Pier) Market

This Maharaj Market, located by the Chao Phraya River near the Grand Palace in Bangkok, features many simple yet charming cafes and well-known restaurants. The market also hosts various events according to festivals. If you want to escape the crowds and enjoy a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon after visiting the palace, this is a great choice.

Khao San Road
Khao San Road is known as the backpacker’s paradise and a must-visit spot for independent travelers in Thailand. Although the street isn’t very long, it is packed with countless restaurants, Thai massage shops, authentic Thai snacks, and unique handicrafts. Whether you want to eat, get a massage to relax, or go shopping, it has it all. Plus, the later it gets, the livelier and more bustling it becomes, almost like a night market version of Taiwan in Thailand.
Quick reminder:Starting this year 2018/8 , the Thai government has implemented regulations, allowing vendors to set up stalls only 18:00-24:00 in designated open areas. Those who want to explore the stalls shouldn’t go too early.
Chatuchak Weekend Market
When talking about must-visit Thai tourist spots, Bangkok’s Chatuchak Market is definitely a highlight. It is said to be larger than 15 a football field, with over 15,000 stalls, and is known as the largest open-air weekend market in Asia. The items sold here are incredibly diverse — you can find shoes, clothes, snacks, and more. However, because it’s so massive, you might forget where a shop was after just turning a corner, so if you see something you like, buy it right away.
Quick reminder:Chatuchak Weekend Marketis only open on weekends.
Amphawa Floating Market?
When traveling in Thailand, you absolutely must experience a local floating market—shopping by boat and sampling delicious Thai street food. In addition to the more well-known Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Amphawa Floating Market is also very famous. It’s a market even locals love to visit, so prices tend to be more affordable, and you might even come across some special little surprises. Also, I highly recommend staying until evening to enjoy the beautiful night river views from a boat—it’s absolutely stunning.
Quick Tips:Amphawa Floating Market?Open only Friday to Sunday12:00~20:00.
Siam Square One
Bangkok’s Siam shopping district is like Taipei’s Xinyi District—a hub for youth fashion and trends, packed with both quality and quantity. From Thailand-exclusive designer clothing brands to various renowned local eateries, how can you not spend at least four or five hours here?

The Erawan Museum (Three-Headed Elephant Museum)
Everyone who visits this museum is amazed, especially girls who can’t stop clicking their cameras — not only is the main three-headed elephant sculpture exquisitely crafted, but the surrounding elephant path features several colorful little elephant statues that are incredibly cute. What’s more, when you walk under the bellies of the little elephants, they even make sounds, which is super fun!
Another highlight of the park is the pink museum itself. The interior carvings and designs are incredibly intricate, so detailed that you can’t help but go “wow…” Appreciate the sculptures, then look up to admire the stunning glass dome framing the magnificent spiral staircase. Upstairs, there are also red-orange chairs where you can take a short rest and quietly soak in the atmosphere of the museum.
