Since the liberalization of the gaming industry in 2002, hotels in Macau have rapidly increased. It is estimated that by 2009, Macau will have 60,000 rooms to welcome travelers from around the world. Invited by the Macau government, American Stephen A. Wynn invested $4 billion to develop Wynn Macau, transplanting the successful experience of Las Vegas. The large water pool in front of the hotel features a spectacular musical fountain show every 15 minutes. With 1,000 individually controlled colored lights and water jets reaching several stories high, the fountains dance gracefully to the rhythm of the music, seemingly full of life. When powerful music plays, flames also shoot out, allowing spectators to feel the charm and thrill of the water performance. With amazing sound, light, and color effects, it’s a spectacle you can never get tired of. Wynns Heen is the most notable fine dining restaurant at Wynn Macau and the first Chinese restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star. Led by Chef Tang, known as “Chef Deng,” over twenty chefs prepare the freshest, most labor-intensive premium Chinese and Cantonese cuisine daily. All dishes insist on using no lard, MSG, or frozen ingredients.
