For frequent visitors to Hong Kong, food and shopping itineraries have long become routine. But this summer, the city’s most iconic traditional Chinese red-sail wooden junk, the “Aqualuna” (aqua luna), has announced the resumption of its summer routes, taking visitors to the “water temple”—the Tin Hau Temple located in Tai Miu Wan.

Unlike previous Victoria Harbour cruises, the “Aqualuna” now offers a new itinerary to the “water temple” Tin Hau Temple. Interested visitors can board at 12:15 PM at Pier 9 in Central or at 12:30 PM at Public Pier No. 1 in Tsim Sha Tsui. The ticket price is HK$340 per adult and HK$200 for children aged 4 to 11, both including a dim sum lunch and one drink.
The “Aqualuna” is a red-sail wooden junk meticulously handcrafted over 18 months by veteran shipbuilders using traditional methods. It measures 28 meters in length and features two decks, providing 1,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor activity space.

Hong Kong’s oldest and largest waterborne Tin Hau Temple is situated in Tai Miu Wan, dedicated to the sea goddess Tin Hau, who guards the eastern entrance of Victoria Harbour. Built in 1266, this Tin Hau Temple is a Grade I historic building in Hong Kong. With its grand scale, scenic beauty, and bustling incense offerings, it presents a striking contrast to the lively city center, offering all visitors a chance to experience a different side of Hong Kong.
Upon arrival at Tai Miu Wan, visitors can freely explore the Tin Hau Temple and learn about the local community life and culture. On the return journey, you can relax on the comfortable sofa beds as the boat leisurely heads back. The cruise is expected to return to the Star Ferry Pier in Central at 3:45 PM or to the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier at 4:00 PM.
In addition to the aforementioned itinerary, the “Aqualuna” currently offers other routes such as the “Life by the Sea” trip to Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter on Mondays, a trip to Cheung Chau on Wednesdays, and weekend cruises around Stanley on Saturdays and Sundays.
Moreover, the “Aqualuna” regularly hosts 45-minute Victoria Harbour cruises—an unmissable experience when visiting Hong Kong. All cruises depart from Pier 1 in Tsim Sha Tsui next to the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and Pier 9 in Central, and conclude at Pier 1 in Tsim Sha Tsui (except for special arrangements).
