The many small details in L’Hermitage Beitou’s operational philosophy reveal why it has earned this Five-Star accolade. Firstly, the resort is situated at the highest point of Youya Road in Beitou, surrounded by Yangmingshan, Danfengshan, and Guanyinshan mountains, offering guests a serene and refined setting. Spanning over 1,600 ping, the resort has only 66 guest rooms, each exceeding 16 ping in size, all featuring private hot and cold soaking tubs while ensuring complete privacy. The thermal spring water is sourced from the nearby Baipao Spring at Yangmingshan’s Dahuangzui area. Thanks to its elevated location, guests can enjoy top-tier premium thermal baths in the resort’s peaceful surroundings.

Guests staying in the rooms are also provided with the resort’s own line of bath and skincare products—none of which are mass-market items. Despite higher costs, the thoughtful care for guests is evident. All bedding uses combed cotton fabric with 800 threads per square inch in a 30x30 grid, typically found only in high-end dress shirts, delivering a comfort as smooth as silk.

Additionally, L’Hermitage Beitou has invited a chef graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in France. At its European restaurant, the chef combines French culinary techniques with local ingredients to create inventive dishes that often leave gourmands craving more. Meanwhile, Chef Yong Cuiting, with years of senior experience, blends Cantonese and Taiwanese cooking styles to bring new flavors to the signature dishes of Yangmingshan.
