The fifth wave of star-rated hotel evaluations released by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has seen 34 hotels join the star-rated ranks. Not only did both domestic and international chain brands perform exceptionally well, but Yalin Hotel in Penghu County also became the latest outlying island hotel to be awarded star status, following Penghu Yuantai Hotel and Kinmen Taijin Hotel.

Today (the 19th), the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications held the fifth star-rated hotel plaque award ceremony, where 34 hotels passed the evaluation and received their plaques, including many well-known domestic and international chain brands. International brands include Taipei Shenkeng Holiday Inn and Taipei W Hotel, while domestic brands include Taroko Regent by Silks Place (Hualien), Fuhang Business Hotel (Hsinchu), and Chungshan Hotel by Cloudland Group (Taoyuan). In addition, six hotels under the Formosa Hotels group were awarded stars in this evaluation, and Yalin Hotel in Penghu County was also rated as a 3-star hotel, making it the second hotel in Penghu to receive a star rating after Yuantai Hotel.

Since 2009 up to now, 147 tourist hotels and general hotels have joined the star-rated ranks. Star-rated hotel evaluations are conducted every three years to ensure consistent quality and maintain star status.
