Ranked as the fourth largest island in Penghu, Wang'an boasts not only the Green Sea Turtle Conservation and Visitor Center, which resembles a sea turtle, but also captivating natural scenery that has earned it the nickname "Honeymoon Island." Among its many attractions, the ever-changing coastal views at sunset are particularly renowned. To showcase the beauty of Wang'an, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration under the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has displayed 20 sunset photography works from now until April 30, 2013, at the Green Sea Turtle Conservation and Visitor Center on Wang'an, allowing visitors to enjoy the island’s stunning sunsets at any time.

Wang'an Township is located in the southern part of the Penghu Archipelago and consists of 18 islands, with only Wang'an Island being inhabited. The photographers participating in this “Wangxi” (Wang’an Sunset) photography exhibition are all teachers from Wang'an Elementary School. Using photographic techniques such as slow shutter speeds and dodging cards, they capture the varying color temperatures of the setting sun, complemented by coastal rocks, algae, and waves, to present the diverse and dynamic sunset scenery along Wang'an’s shores.
Wang'an features a rich combination of natural and cultural elements including beaches, ecology, traditional houses, and geology. From the southeast to the southwest, its white sandy beaches offer picturesque scenery, making them perfect spots for beach activities and a popular destination for tourists to admire the sunset in summer. The Huazhai Settlement in Zhongshe Village, characterized by its black stones, lime plaster, and other traditional materials, not only preserves the area’s well-maintained traditional Minnan architecture but has also been recognized by UNESCO as one of the “Top 100 Most Endangered Sites of Cultural Heritage in the World.” The Green Sea Turtle Conservation and Visitor Center near Qimei, with its streamlined architectural design and rich content on green sea turtle conservation, is also an iconic structure in Wang'an Township for ecological preservation.
