During the crisp autumn months from September to November, New Taipei City launches the “Seniors’ Travel Go-Go” 199 NTD value-packed one-day tour, featuring two routes — “Lohas Sanxia Old Street” and “A Stroll Through Tamsui’s History” — with a total of 29 sessions, totaling 1,000 slots. Starting September 10, all New Taipei City residents aged 65 and above are eligible to sign up, on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, the New Taipei City Tourism Website also recommends 11 forest and railway routes, along with detailed information on public transport, restrooms, and barrier-free facilities, ensuring seniors can travel easily and without worry.

The “Seniors’ Travel Go-Go” offers two types of tours: “A Stroll Through Tamsui’s History One-Day Tour” and “Lohas Sanxia Old Street One-Day Tour,” both covering famous attractions in New Taipei City. The content includes historical and cultural experiences as well as recreational activities, along with visits or hands-on workshops at local tourist factories such as “Tea Mountain House Soap Culture Experience Hall,” “Shouxin Fang Creative Mochi Culture Museum,” and “Industrial Research Longevity Culture Museum,” allowing seniors to share these iconic Taiwanese brands and memories. Moreover, the tour routes are designed with seniors’ needs in mind, featuring well-equipped surroundings and travel times between attractions not exceeding one hour to avoid fatigue. Residents of New Taipei City aged 65 or above can sign up starting September 10 by contacting any Lion Travel branch in the New Taipei area.

The “Seniors’ Travel PAPAGO” section under the “Fun Themes” on the New Taipei City Tourism Website recommends 11 senior-friendly routes under four major themes: “Phytoncide – Forest Bathing Lohas Tours,” “Intellectual – Arts & Railway Tours,” “Historical – Cultural Deep-Dive Tours,” and “Seaside – Delicious & Relaxed Tours.” These include detailed information on public transport, restrooms, and barrier-free facilities, ensuring seniors can enjoy safe, comfortable, and fulfilling trips.
