The first new A330-300 aircraft of TransAsia Airways arrived at Taipei Songshan Airport on the 28th and will be put into service on routes to Singapore and Hokkaido. The second A330-300 passenger aircraft will also be officially delivered in January 2013 and enter service on international routes. Moreover, six A321-200 and six A321neo passenger aircraft ordered in 2010 and 2011 will be delivered progressively starting from 2014. With the addition of the new A330 aircraft to the TransAsia Airways fleet, major Asia-Pacific cities within a nine-hour flight radius—including Sydney, Australia, New Zealand, Guam, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East—will become new potential destinations actively pursued by the airline.

The first A330-300 aircraft of TransAsia Airways features two cabin classes, including 32 business class seats and 268 economy class seats, offering 120 to 142 more seats compared to the current A320-232 and A321-131 models. Additionally, the A330-300 business class seats have a pitch of 60 cm and feature the world’s first innovative airbag lumbar and foot supports, as well as a new type of footrest. The seats recline up to 172 degrees into a fully flat bed and are equipped with a 15.4-inch digital personal screen system. Economy class seats have a pitch of 32 cm and a 6-degree recline, with each seat featuring a 9-inch personal screen and in-flight entertainment system.
As part of its fleet renewal for domestic routes, the nine ATR72-600 aircraft purchased by TransAsia Airways this year will also be delivered progressively starting from 2013, at a rate of one to two aircraft per year, gradually replacing the currently used ATR72-500 models.
