Local governments continue to roll out innovative ways to promote tourism. Following the famous Shimen Wedding Square on the North Coast and the wedding ceremony under the Sacred Tree in Alishan, Kinmen County Government has also launched a subsidy of up to NT$23,760 per couple and photography team from now until April 30, 2013, inviting both domestic and international visitors to come to Kinmen for wedding photo shoots. Enjoy playing and taking photos at the same time. Additionally, three competitions will be held: the Wedding Photography Awards for professional photographers, general public, and micro-movies, allowing participants to discover Kinmen’s romantic and happy vibes from various perspectives.

The application period for the 2012 Kinmen Wedding Photo Subsidy runs from now until April 30, 2013. Both domestic and international visitors who take wedding photos in Kinmen from November 2012 onwards are eligible to apply, and applications can also be made by travel agencies or wedding photography studios. The subsidy is divided into two phases: the first phase selects the first 30 registered groups, covering round-trip airfare or ferry tickets for two subjects and two members of the photography team, two days of island transportation, one day of accommodation for two rooms, with a maximum subsidy of NT$23,760 per group; the second phase covers groups 31 to 100, each receiving a subsidy of NT$8,000. All applicants will receive a Kinmen Love Token set.
For the professional photographers’ category of the Wedding Photography Awards, any photographer who takes wedding photos in Kinmen from November 2012 to March 22, 2013, is eligible to participate. The submission period runs from now until March 22, 2013, 5:00 PM. Select three sets of wedding photos taken in Kinmen during the event, write a project description of no more than 200 words for each, and send them to the event’s dedicated email address to register. The top three winners of this competition will receive prizes of NT$50,000, NT$20,000, and NT$10,000 respectively.
For the general public category of the Wedding Photography Awards, the submission period runs from now until March 15, 2013, 5:00 PM. Participants simply need to select one wedding photo taken in Kinmen during the event, write a photo caption of no more than 30 words and a love story introduction of no more than 200 words, along with the registration form, and email them to the event’s dedicated email address to register. From March 18, 2013, to April 18, 2013, 11:59 PM, the top three photos with the highest combined number of likes and shares will each receive prizes of NT$50,000, NT$20,000, and NT$10,000. The lists of winners for both the photographers’ and general public categories will be announced on the event’s official website on April 22, 2013.
