The Yellow Duck exhibition in Kaohsiung has sparked a nationwide duck-spotting craze, attracting 1.67 million visitors as of October 2. Online discussions and photo sharing have been lively. The Facebook page “Kaohsiung Incredible” recently called on netizens to submit their Yellow Duck photos. After selection by the Facebook event team and photography and aesthetics experts, five photo albums have been published on Facebook so far, including couples kissing under the Yellow Duck as a testament to their love, reflections of the Yellow Duck by the harbor, and a duck wearing a crown.

The therapeutic Yellow Duck exhibition in Kaohsiung has become extremely popular. Excluding one day off due to Typhoon Usagi, from the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 19 to October 2, the exhibition has attracted 1.67 million visitors in nearly half a month. It is expected to surpass 2 million visitors this Saturday and Sunday. Lai Ruilong, Director of the City Government Information Bureau, said that the “Kaohsiung Incredible” Facebook fan page, run by the bureau and currently with nearly 100,000 followers, leveraged its promotional power. On September 25, it called for netizens to submit their favorite Yellow Duck photos, hoping that through their creative ideas, the Yellow Duck could showcase different looks and fun. So far, over 250 amazing photos have been collected, and the collection is still ongoing.

Among the many entries, the photo “Night Duck” by netizen “Wild Bento,” showing the reflection of the Yellow Duck by the harbor, is currently the most popular. The photo “Yellow Duck Witnesses Love – A Couple’s Kiss” by netizen “Kaohsiunger Lu Zhixian,” which openly displays affection, has also received a great response and is the second most popular among the published photos. In addition, some netizens have used creative ideas, taking advantage of the surrounding buildings at Glory Pier and the Yellow Duck to capture a forced perspective shot, cleverly giving the Yellow Duck a crown and adding a lot of fun.

Lai Ruilong pointed out that some netizens had previously expressed the hope of collecting Yellow Duck commemorative stamps. After discussions with the exhibition team, it is planned to launch the “Yellow Duck Commemorative Stamp” service this Saturday (October 5). Visitors in need can visit the service desk near Haian Road and Qingnian Road. There will be five stamps available for visitors to stamp as souvenirs.
