The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has launched the “Taiwan Travel & Shop – Be My Travel Hero” campaign in collaboration with local governments starting today. The initiative brings together over 10,000 businesses across the categories of “food, accommodation, tours, shopping, and transportation,” offering a variety of themed travel packages with special discounts. These include discounts for holders of the Tourism Passport when making purchases, lucky draws, special offers at affiliated shops, gifts for check-ins after reaching spending thresholds, and stamp-collecting discounts at accommodations – all providing travelers with great value and savings amid rising costs.

Among the 22 participating counties and cities, Yilan County is hosting the “2013 Longevity Festival” specially designed for senior citizens; Keelung City offers the “Lucky Dragon Treasure Hunt Keelung Tourism Passport” with discounts at affiliated shops; Taipei City’s “Taipei Hot Spring Season” provides benefits for customers with the event brochure; New Taipei City’s “New Taipei LET’S Go” features a car giveaway through lucky draws; Taoyuan County’s “‘Chiang’ Good Happiness” lets visitors enjoy 10% off at selected charming local stores; Hsinchu City presents the “Strolling Through the Windy City – Lighting Up the Heart” Zhudong-themed meal; Hsinchu County’s “Taiwan Good Line – Shishan Route” offers ticket discounts for Green World Ecological Farm and Liu Hsing-chin Cartoon Museum; Miaoli County’s “Miaoli Nanzhuang Food, Accommodation, Tours, Shopping & Travel” gives local gifts for check-ins after reaching spending limits; Taichung City’s “Xinshe Flower Sea” showcases local agricultural specialties and souvenirs with discounts; Changhua County’s “Sunny Changhua Tourism Card” provides various discounts and offers at partner shops.
In addition, Nantou County has issued the “Nantou Tourism Passport” offering up to NT$30,000 in on-site discounts for exploring Nantou; Yunlin County’s “Taiwan Good Line – Yunlin Beigang Prayer Route” experience tour comes with up to 46% off; Chiayi City presents the “Forest Corridor Cypress Trail Seek Tranquility” forest cultural and creative tourism; Chiayi County’s “Let’s Journey (Journey) to Chiayi” combines the Alishan Sunrise Impression Concert with accommodation stamp-collecting discounts; Tainan City’s “Tainan Cuisine · Fashion · Truly Springlike” lets you experience the old Tainan city; Kaohsiung City’s “Travel to Jiaxian with Ease, Pull a River” theme itinerary is offered at preferential prices; Pingtung County’s “Wan You Pingtung” brings a string of lucky draws with great prizes; Hualien County’s “Luck Comes with Stones – Happy New Year” offers a hot spring shuttle package; Taitung County features “Autumn in Eastern Taiwan” accommodation discounts; and Kinmen County invites you to “Happy & Fun Travel Routes” for a leisurely adventure.
