For Apple fans, Steve Jobs is a god-like spiritual leader. Even two years after his passing, his charismatic presence during product launches still lives on in the hearts of his followers. Now, besides cherishing memories of Jobs through products like computers and mobile phones, the childhood home of Steve Jobs in California, USA, has been voted by the Los Altos Historical Commission to be listed as a “historic asset” and is now under local government protection, becoming a lasting spiritual landmark for Apple enthusiasts.

All Apple fans have heard the story of how Jobs built the world’s first Apple computer in his family’s garage. This unremarkable house at 2066 Crist Drive may not look like much from the outside, but it was not only the starting point of Jobs’ career but also the birthplace of today’s Apple empire and its groundbreaking products — the iMac, iPod, iPhone, iPad, and others — which transformed six major industries: personal computing, film animation, music, mobile phones, desktop computers, and digital publishing.
Jobs spent grades 7 through 12 here, and in 1976, together with another Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, he assembled the first batch of 50 “Apple 1” computers in the garage, selling each for $500 to local computer dealers. Nine months later, Apple Computer was officially founded, and Jobs then moved the company to nearby Cupertino.
